Scandal rocks Jabalpur University, two officials arrested

Jabalpur, Mar three (PTI) 2 officers of Jabalpur University are arrested in reference to an alleged sex-for-marks scandal.

Controller of Examination Prof S S Rana and Deputy Registrar R S Kakodia of Rani Durgawati Vishwavidyalaya were arrested on March one, police said.

Earlier one Raju Khan was arrested during this case whereas 2 alternative accused -- Prerna Atwal, a student, and one Ajay Khandelwal -- are absconding, police said.

According to a grievance filed by S Arya, a first-year MBBS student of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical faculty last month, Prerna, her senior within the faculty, told her that she had to bear in mind to Khan''s sexual demands for obtaining increased marks within the revaluation.

Prerna told her that Khan had contacts within the varsity, and conjointly revealed that she had failed in 2 subjects, though the results weren't nevertheless declared, Arya claimed.

Police have seized all the solution sheets of the primary year MBBS exam.
