Homemade tips for beauty skin

Glowing skin begins at home

If you don't get over-the-counter moisturisers effective, get the 'kitchen way' to good skin. Dig into your food shelf, or make a run to the grocer's - the secrets to a glowing complexion can be homemade and inexpensive...
Add 4-5 drops of jojoba oil with an equal total of coconut oil and rose water. Apply after washing your face, or bathing. This moisturiser not only provides intense hydration, it also leaves a pleasant, lingering
fragrance.

Mix equal amounts of glycerine and rose water. To this, add a few drops of lime juice to dilute it. If used regularly overnight, this moisturiser not only tackles patchy, chapped and dry skin, it gives you a glowing complexion, and removes dark spots and freckles.

Mix 1tsp each of almond and milk powder with 2tbsp glycerine and 1tbsp each of lemon juice and almond oil. Apply this mix once a week - this will provide you enough hydration to be able to go through the rest of the week with lighter formulations.Lemon or orange juice, blended with olive oil, is a tried-tested-trusted way of moisturising - your skin benefits from the healing properties of olive and the Vitamin C from the citrus fruits.

Overnight, massage mayonnaise on your face and neck - it undoes the harm caused to your skin by sun, cold and pollution through the day.

Aloe vera creams not only work as a good moisturiser, they also have anti-aging properties. Heat one part of aloe vera gel with an equal amount of water. Let it boil until it turns creamy. This rich moisturiser is good for dry, rough, sunburned skin, chapped lips and elbows.

Coconut oil is rich in vitamins and lipids that soften the skin. Cocoa butter smoothens the damaging effects of the sun and other external factors. Combined with coconut oil, it protects the skin from dry cold.

Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupati to web hesh soon?

'Koffee' Conclusion: Lara, Mahesh Ready for Feb 2011 Nuptials

Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi get engaged -

'Koffee' and its little capers! Boyyyyy, Karan Johar is (in)famous for those thrills, spills and chills (minus all Ramsays, thankfully) on his chat show. 'Koffee With Karan' continues its rollercoaster ride of revelations, with Mahesh Bhupathi and Lara Dutta being the latest suspects on the chatathon.

Reportedly, the duo has confessed on K Jo's telly talk that they intend to tie the nuptial knot in February 2011.

States a close source, "When Mahesh and Lara appeared on the show, Karan asked them about their marriage plans and they were candid enough to admit that they did intend to marry in February 2011. They said that their families were in the process of finalising the date soon. Apart from that, Lara also told him about how Mahesh proposed to her on September 12, 2010."

Earlier tattle suggested that Bhupathi was the real reason behind Lara dumping Dino Morea and later, there were reports that hinted at Lara causing a break up of Mahesh and Shveta Jaishankar's marital bond.
Says the insider, "They spoke about their respective exes and thrashed all the rumours surrounding it, asserting that those relationships were already over before theirs started."

Lara was romantically linked to Kelly Dorje and Dino Morea earlier, until tennis ace Mahesh Bhupathi netted her finally. Mahesh announced his engagement on his Twitter page and the couple got engaged when Mahesh was in New York for the US Open and Lara was present for a magazine photo shoot.

Nayanthara to quit acting??

Nayanthara has started to reduce her films. Her films in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada were recently released and were great hits. Because of this she has become the number one actress of the year. Her salary has also escalated.

Offers are pouring on her. But she has not accepted any new films. Now she is acting only in one Telugu film titled Ram Rajyam. She declined to act in a film which had Venkatesh in the lead role. There is also news that she is likely to marry Prabhu Deva and has also plans to settle in Dubai after her marriage and that is the reason that she is not accepting new films.

When asked Nayanthara whether she is going to quit acting, she said,” I have decided to take a long rest. There is nothing more to tell. They had called me to act in Savithri which had Venkatesh in the lead role. Though I liked the story, I was not able to act in it because of my personal reasons.

I have understood the difference between the personal life and cinema life. Now I am very happy and heart contended. All the films which I have acted were great hits. I got lots of appreciations. I expected that the film Boss Engira Baskaran will be a great hit when director Rajesh narrated the story to me.

My character was also good in the film. I am donning the role of Seetha in the film Ram Rajyam. This film is Ramayana story. The Lava Kusa portions are only being shot. This film is a remake of the old film which had Anjali Devi had acted. I am doing the role which Anjali Devi did in the original version.”

Nithyananda: More revelations

Sex and the single swami

"I am Krishna and you are my Gopika," sounds like an appalling pickup line, but if the Karnataka police are to be believed, it was normally employed by 33-year-old Swami Nithyananda or Paramahamsa Nithyananda of the Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam at Bidadi, Karnataka, to seduce his female devotees.

The 430-page chargesheet filed by the Karnataka CID on November 27 against Nithyananda was prompted by the complaint of a young lady (whose name and identity has been withheld by the CID as part of the witness protection programme) accusing the swami of sexual abuse at the Bidadi Ashram, 37 km from Bangalore, and in other locations. Her complaint says Nithyananda insisted on "seeking moksha through sexual union" with several female devotees by claiming to be incarnations of various gods.

The swami made them sign non-disclosure agreements (NDA) forbidding them to reveal sexual details. The signed NDA (in the possession of INDIA TODAY) states that "the volunteer understands that the programme may involve the learning and practice of ancient tantric secrets associated with male and female ecstasy, including the use of sexual energy for increased intimacy/spiritual connection, pleasure, harmony and freedom. Volunteer understands that these activities could be physically and mentally challenging and may involve nudity, access to visual images, graphic visual depictions and descriptions of nudity and sexual activity, close proximity and intimacy, verbal and written descriptions and audio sounds of a sexually oriented and erotic nature."

The agreement also absolves the ashram of any wrongdoing with an additional clause in the NDA: "By reading and signing this document, volunteer irrevocably acknowledges that he/she is voluntarily giving
unconditional acceptance of such activities and discharges the leader and the foundation, and anyone else not specifically mentioned here but directly or indirectly involved in the organisation, management or conduct of any such programmes from any liability, direct or indirect, arising from such activities."A further sentence states that the "volunteer also affirms that he/she does not find sexual or adult-oriented material associated with the practice of any tantric rituals or any other adult material to be offensive or objectionable."

Nithyananda's Spiritual Wares
  •     Advanced inner awakening programme: $6,000
  •     Holy rudraksha bracelet: $12
  •     Rudraksha mala: $35
  •     Meditation kit: $30
  •     Silver replica of his feet: $20
  •     Silver Guru Puja Set containing his picture, silver diya, haldi and kumkum boxes: $550
  •     Perpetual Calendar with the Joke of the Day: $12
DIG Charan Reddy of the CID says no court would admit an agreement like this, "full of illegalities, but we are quite sure that by the time the victims signed it, they had already been exploited or brainwashed with not much of a chance to protest." The cops claim to have snagged video clips showing the godman in compromising positions with at least five women-a charge the ashram scoffs at. "It's difficult to put a
number to his victims, but I would guess not less than 15," says Reddy.

Deadliest Pakistan for journalist

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Pakistan has grow to be the most dangerous place in the world for journalists, with at least eight killed this year, while the number of news media deaths worldwide has dropped compared to last year, a press freedom group said on Wednesday.

At least 42 journalists have been killed worldwide so far in 2010, down from 72 in all of 2009, according to the New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists.

Pakistan's death toll of at least eight journalists doubles its total of four from 2009. Six of the eight deaths in Pakistan were due to suicide attacks or cross-fire during militant strikes, the group said.

"The deaths of at least eight journalists in Pakistan are a symptom of the pervasive violence that grips the country, much of it spilling over from neighbouring Afghanistan," Joel Simon, the group's executive director, said in a statement.

"With the rise in suicide attacks, the greatest risk is simply covering the news," Simon added. "This is a deeply troubling and frankly untenable situation."

Iraq was the second deadliest country for journalists this year, with four deaths, followed by Honduras and Mexico with three each. Two journalists were killed in Thailand, Nigeria, Somalia, Angola, Indonesia, Afghanistan and the Philippines.

Last year, the Philippines was the most dangerous country for journalists, with 33 killed.

"The killing of 42 journalists in 2010, while a decline over previous years, is still unacceptably high and reflective of the pervasive violence journalists confront around the world," Simon said.

"From Afghanistan to Mexico, Thailand to Russia, the failure of governments to investigate crimes against the press contributes to a climate of impunity that ultimately fuels further violence," Simon added.

Murder remained the leading cause of death of journalists in 2010, and combat-related cross-fire, suicide bombings and dangerous assignments claimed more lives than in past years, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists.

In Thailand, Reuter’s cameraman Hiro Muramoto was killed during a Bangkok protest on April 10.

Nearly 90 percent of the journalists killed in 2010 were local journalists, the group said. Those working mostly for Internet publications constituted a greater proportion of victims this year, with at least six dead, the group added.

A final tally of journalists killed in 2010 is due to be released by the group in January.

Govt Introduce Plastic Currencies

''Govt may introduce plastic currency to counter fake notes''

Ranchi, Dec 14 (PTI) The Government is seriously considering opening of plastic currency notes in the country to check the threat of fake notes, RBI Governor D Subbarao said here today.

"We are seriously considering introduce plastic currency notes in the Indian economy to check the fake currency problem and also for their longevity," Subbarao said while interacting with students of Ranchi University.

"We will also take into consideration the experience of countries like Australia and New Zealand who have been using plastic notes," he said.

The problem of fake currency notes being circulated has been affecting the economy and the RBI was taking steps to check it, he said.

The RBI, Subbarao added, was consulting other banks of the country and the Centre on the ways to check the problem.

When a student pointed out that fake currency notes were being distributed even through bank ATMs, he said the RBI was preparing stringent standards in this regard and very soon they would be implemented.

Subbarao said the RBI was focusing on inclusion of the rural economy into the banking system as it was imperative for faster growth of the country''s economy.

"RBI is organising several outreach programmes in association with other banks to reach the rural population and the objective is to provide core banking facilities in all the panchayats of the country," Rao said in reply to another query by a student.

The Indian economy, he added, was fast growing and with the inclusion of rural population, it would even surpass Chinese economy.

Subbarao, who is on a two-day trip to the state to popularise rural banking, attended a high-level meeting here later in the evening, where Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda, chief secretary A K Singh and other senior officials were also present.
