According to a reliable supply, "Rajini considers Rekha and therefore the letter 'R' lucky for him. 'Robot' is his biggest hit so far. And he was keen that the title of his new film starts with the letter 'R'. Coincidentally, his director in 'Rana' is called Ravi (K Ravi Kumar). Rajinikant wished his co star too to be somebody with 'R'."
Apparently the timeless diva was hesitant to check in the dotted line, since she had some reservations regarding her role within the film that stars Deepika Padukone because the leading girl. however Raijini was insistent and even flew right down to Mumbai convince Rekha, who has previously been paired with him in 'Phool Bane Angaaray' and 'Bulandi'.
